LiftMaster vs. Manaras — which commercial operator should I choose?
Both are top-tier commercial brands and we install and service both across the Tri-Cities. LiftMaster is the North American volume leader with the broadest model range, MyQ smart-connectivity and the easiest access-control integration — it is the default choice for most strata, multi-family and light-commercial buildings. Manaras-Opera is Canadian-built with cast-iron gearboxes and is the preferred choice when ultra-long mechanical life, heavy continuous-duty cycling and warehouse/industrial loads are the priority. On a typical Coquitlam strata parkade we recommend the LiftMaster MJ or Manaras OHJ; on a Port Moody warehouse with 250+ daily cycles we typically recommend the Manaras OSJ.
Which Manaras operator is right for a strata parkade gate?
For most Tri-Cities strata parkades the Manaras OHJ heavy-duty jackshaft is the standard choice — wall-mounted to preserve ceiling clearance, cast-iron gearbox rated for continuous duty, and built for 100–250 daily cycles. For high-traffic high-rise parkades and warehouse loading bays exceeding 250 cycles per day, we step up to the Manaras OSJ ultra heavy-duty jackshaft.
Which LiftMaster opener is right for a strata parkade gate?
For most Tri-Cities strata parkade sectional doors and roll-ups, the LiftMaster MJ medium-duty jackshaft is the standard choice — wall-mounted, 1/2 HP, and built for daily multi-tenant cycle counts. If the building has 150+ units and very high traffic, or if uninterrupted operation during power outages is required, we recommend stepping up to the HCTDCUL with integrated battery backup.
What is the difference between a trolley and a jackshaft operator?
A trolley operator mounts on the ceiling and pulls the door open with a rail and trolley above the door (LiftMaster T and MT). A jackshaft operator mounts on the wall next to the door and turns the torsion shaft directly (LiftMaster H and MJ). Jackshaft operators free up the ceiling for cranes, racking and lighting, while trolley operators are simpler and lower-cost for standard headroom buildings.
Do LiftMaster commercial openers include MyQ smart-connectivity?
Yes — most current LiftMaster commercial operators, including the HCTDCUL, support MyQ for remote door monitoring, scheduled close and access-control integration. A LiftMaster Internet Gateway or compatible Wi-Fi hub is required and we configure it during installation.
How long does a commercial LiftMaster opener typically last?
Industrial-duty models (H, T, HCTDCUL) are rated for over one million cycles when maintained on a scheduled program. Medium-duty models (MJ, MT, MHS) typically last 12–18 years on commercial duty. Skipping annual maintenance is the single biggest factor in premature operator failure — chain stretch, limit drift and burnt boards are all preventable.
Do you stock LiftMaster commercial openers locally in Coquitlam?
Yes. We carry the LiftMaster MJ, MT and HCTDCUL on our service trucks for same-week installation across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. Larger industrial T and H models are ordered to spec with typical lead times of 5–10 business days.
Do you stock Manaras OHJ and OSJ operators locally?
Yes. We keep Manaras OTBH, OHJ and OSJ operators in local stock for same-week installation across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. Replacement gearboxes, brake assemblies, limit cams and control boards are also on our service trucks for in-field repairs.
Can you service a LiftMaster commercial opener installed by another company?
Yes — we service every LiftMaster and Manaras commercial operator regardless of who installed it. Our trucks carry common boards, limit switches, radio receivers, sprockets and chain. Most board-level and limit-switch repairs are completed in a single visit.
